What are Golden Globe Awards?

Golden Globe Awards are accolades bestowed by the 93 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association beginning in January 1944, recognizing excellence in film and television, both domestic and foreign.
The annual ceremony at which the awards are presented is a major part of the film industry's awards season, which culminates each year in the Academy Awards.The eligibility period for films correspond to the calendar year. The 75th Golden Globe Awards ceremony, is an upcoming awarding event to honor the best in film and American television of 2017and is scheduled to broadcast live on January 7, 2018, from The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California beginning at 5:00 p.m. PST / 8:00 p.m. EST by NBC.The ceremony will be produced by Dick Clark Productions in association with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
