What are Golden Globe Awards?

Golden Globe Awards are accolades bestowed by the 93 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association beginning in January 1944, recognizing excellence in film and television, both domestic and foreign.

The annual ceremony at which the awards are presented is a major part of the film industry's awards season, which culminates each year in the Academy Awards.The eligibility period for films correspond to the calendar year. For example, a film would have been eligible for the 60th Golden Globe Awards (held in 2002) if it was released on any date 01 January to 31 December 2001 inclusive.

75th Golden Globe Awards

The 75th Golden Globe Awards ceremony, is an upcoming awarding event to honor the best in film and American television of 2017and is scheduled to broadcast live on January 7, 2018, from The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California beginning at 5:00 p.m. PST / 8:00 p.m. EST by NBC.The ceremony will be produced by Dick Clark Productions in association with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

Talk-show host Seth Meyers will host the ceremony for the first time.Oprah Winfrey was announced as Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award honoree on December 13, 2017
