How to change the icon of Hard Disk Drives very simple and easy way for windows XP, 7, 8, 8.1, 10

Bored of Standard windows icons of Hard Disk Drives?Then this blog is for you, just follow the step wise easy procedure to change icons for your hard drives.

Step 1

Open notepad and paste the following code into it;

[autorun]

icon=youriconname.ico

Replace the youriconname with the name of the icon you have(for example if your icon file name is 1 or 1.ico then the dode must be like this

[autorun]

icon=1.ico

Step 2

Click on file then save as and then type the name Autorun.inf. Make sure that the option All Files is selected from the dropdown menu that says "save as type"

Step 3

Put that file into the drive whose you want the icon to be changed.Remember always put the autorun file directly into the drive, never put it in a folder or subdirectory.

Step 4

Now put your icon (.ico file) alongside the autorun file.The icon file and autorun file must be in the same directory or location to work properly.You can get .ico files (icons) from here:

Step 5

Now you may want to hide these autorun and ico file so that you may not delete these files by mistake or your drive doesn't look messy.

Step 6

Now in the final step restart your computer/laptop and see the magic
